WHO IS JESSE JACKSON JR. ?

Jesse Jackson Junior served as a Representative from Illinois; born in Greenville, Pickens County, S.C., March 11, 1965B.S., North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, Greensboro, N.C. in 1987. He received his M.A., Chicago Theological Seminary, Chicago, Ill. in 1989, and received his J.D., at the University of Illinois College of Law, Chicago, Ill., 1993. Jackson served as secretary of the Democratic National Committee’s Black Caucus, national field director, National Rainbow Coalition from 1993-1995. He was a member of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition and was elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Fourth Congress, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of United States Representative Mel Reynolds. Jackson was then reelected to the eight succeeding Congresses until his resignation on November 21, 2012 and served through December 12, 1995-November 21, 2012 until he was elected to the One Hundred Thirteenth Congress, but declined his seat.
